About NSBE

NSBE is a non-profit Association that is owned and managed by its members. The Organization is dedicated to the academic and professional success of African-American engineering students and Professionals. 

NSBE offers it members leadership training, professional development, mentoring opportunities, career placement services and more! NSBE is comprised of more than 300 collegiate, 75 professional and 75 pre-college Chapters nationwide and overseas.

NSBE was introduced to Ghana in August 1998 after the first International conference to be held in Africa was held in Ghana.  Another conference was held the same time in 1999, and during that same year, the first chapter, a collegiate chapter was chartered on the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST campus in October, 1999.

Currently, NSBE Ghana has chapters in University of Ghana, Legon, University of Mines and Technology, UMaT, Tarkwa, University of Cape Coast, Accra Polytechnic and the only Alumni chapter, Accra Alumni Extension Chapter, AAE.  We also have PCI chapters in the following Senior Secondary Schools, Accra High Secondary School, Accra Girls Secondary School, St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School and the potential to charter more PCIs.

NSBE Ghana has embraced the mission of NSBE to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.  We are so passionate about the Society that, we have no doubt NSBE Ghana is going to be the pivot for NSBE Africa.

We have initiated NSBE Ghana Secretariat.  The primarily role is to coordinate all NSBE Ghana chapters and to encourage them to promote the mission and vision of NSBE.  We are so excited this idea has paid of immensely.  We have been able to activate some defunct chapters and established new ones.  We look forward to having a better relationship with the rest of the NSBE family.
